Privatis vs eFront: the whole GP stack, built for the firms that run it.

eFront brings institutional breadth and, since 2026, Preqin data on Aladdin. Privatis is built for the GP's own team and covers the areas eFront leaves to other tools: data rooms, partnership tax, issuer cap tables and private credit.

About BlackRock eFront

What eFront does well, and where it stops.

Built for: The largest GPs, LPs and allocators — especially in Europe — that want accounting, monitoring and market data inside the Aladdin ecosystem.

2026: Preqin data folded into eFront on Aladdin; eFront Copilot in private preview.

Strong at

Institutional breadth: accounting, monitoring, investor portal and Preqin data, with a strong AIFMD footprint in Europe.

Where it stops

Built for the largest GPs and allocators. We found no data rooms, K-1s or issuer cap tables.

Choose Privatis over eFront if
  • 01You're an upper-middle-market GP that needs institutional-grade books without an institutional implementation.
  • 02You want data rooms, K-1s and cap tables in the same platform as the fund ledger.
  • 03You want an AI assistant working across your own deals, funds and LPs today, with every change approved by a person.
eFront may suit you better if

You're a very large GP or allocator already standardized on Aladdin, or you rely on Preqin data inside your system of record.

What one ledger changes

The same entry, everywhere it matters.

Every Privatis module posts to and reads from one general ledger. That's what makes these possible without an integration in between.

01

A signed commitment becomes a capital account

The LP CRM, the subscription documents and the general ledger are the same record, so nothing is re-keyed between fundraising and the books.

02

An approved mark posts to the GL

DCF, comps, LBO and option-pricing backsolves reconcile to one fair value. Approving it posts the journal entry that moves NAV, the Level 3 rollforward and every LP capital account.

03

Carry is computed from the books it's paid from

European, American and hybrid waterfalls, with catch-up and quarterly accrual, read the same capital and the same LPA terms the fee engine uses.

04

The K-1 ties to the financial statements

The 1065, K-1s and K-2/K-3s come from the same 704(b) capital as the GAAP statements and LP capital accounts. There's no hand-off to a separate tax file.

05

Filings start from the fund's own data

Form ADV, Form PF, FATCA, CRS and FBAR are produced as filing-ready exports from live holdings and capital, not re-keyed into a consultant's template.

06

The data room follows the deal into the portfolio

The target you diligenced becomes the portfolio company on the same record: data room, cap structure, KPIs, covenants and valuation history together.

07

AI that can read everything and change nothing on its own

AlphaBot works across deals, funds, credit and LP data, inside your information walls. Every change it suggests is a proposal that a person approves.
